The Word of the Week - Forgiveness (Part 1)

I found a beautiful quote to serve as a wonderful reminder that helps you to practically balance, as well as to unify the mind, body and spirit as one.  There are many tools to use that help to bring you closer to mastering consistently the elements of peace, joy and serenity; the most important of which, is learning the art of forgiveness.

“There is no love without forgiveness and there is no forgiveness without love”
By Byrant H McGill

I would like you to really think about the above quote, say it over in your mind.  Notice any feelings and thoughts that come into you as a result of reciting these words.  Is there someone in YOUR life that you need to forgive?  Do you realise that holding onto any type of resentment whatsoever, be it big or small, damages not only your mind,(your thoughts) but also manifests itself physically in your body by way of health?

Forgiveness unlocks the power innate in you to love unconditionally.  That IS your purpose, that is what you were born to experience!  We all hold some form of resentment against one another for any number of transgressions that we have felt directed towards us.  It could be the shop assistant who served you rudely or the driver that cut you up, a colleague at work, or it could be members of your family as well as those who are the most closest to you such as your partner.

You cannot truly say that you love, without learning to forgive and this tool releases you from allowing resentment and acrimony to build in your life.  In my own personal experience, I thought I had forgiven people whom I thought had hurt me the most, but I realised I had not.  My feelings would make me extremely aware that the person was still very much connected to me without having to communicate with them physically, because the mere thought of them would give rise to a negative feeling!

I learned that every night I had to go through a list of people whom I had encountered that day and forgive them.  I also included forgiving myself for any unloving thoughts I may have had or any angry responses that I had during the day.

With constant use (and this tool cannot be overused) I would affirm:

“I forgive (insert the person’s name) and I release you.  I forgive myself and release it to the Universe.”

This affirmation opens your heart, for as you learn to forgive others and create more love in your life, you in turn attract forgiveness and more love into your life.

That which YOU desire in your life, you must first learn to give.

Have a wonderful weekend. Nameste.

The Word of the Week - Lean On Me

When I was young I used to hear this song “Lean on me by Bill Withers” upon the radio. It would always seem to play when I was feeling down, giving me a modicum of comfort even if fleeting.  Now that I am older and I can really appreciate the message of the song, I still struggled with how to practically apply its notion, so that I could rely upon a strength greater than my own in the times when I was weak.  An excerpt of its lyrics are as follows:

Sometimes in our lives
We all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrow

Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

©Bill Withers

So what does it mean?  Whether you believe it or not, there is a  greater power contained within each and every one of us that comes from our Creator, whom of which, goes by whatever name you feel comfortable giving it.  The song calls for you to “lean on me when you’re not strong.”  How many of you have felt that some days, you just do not have the strength to carry on, that this burden, a creation of our own thoughts, weighs down upon you so heavily  it’s as if you literally cannot breathe?  So how do you tap into this strength, how do you lift the weight that pulls you down?

Our heartfelt tears carry upon it, the soothing balm of the spirit within; it is at this lowest point that we are most open to receive the message of love; the strongest power in the universe with which to heal our wounds.  In this supplication, you literally ASK for the strength within to step forward, then YOU move out of the way, let go of control and allow that force within to lead.
Once you learn to loosen the grip that you have on your life; once you learn that your way of thinking no longer serves you; once you learn that life will keep beating the hell out of you until you submit to that higher power within, you will always feel pain.

Just for today, let the words of the song guide you to the “ME” within.  Lean on ME, when you’re not strong and I will be your friend!  It may just turn out to be the BEST friend that you will ever need.

Have a blessed weekend.

The Word of the Week - Living Your Purpose

There has never been a more receptive time than now, to throw off the shackles of your mind and step into your divine power of living your life’s purpose.  An overwhelming cry has emanated throughout our planet from those souls who desire much more than what they are currently receiving in their lives.  This call is demonstrated by the influx of material regarding manifestation, inner guidance, living a more healthful life and bringing back the healing power of love into our vocabulary that enriches our daily existence.

If you are viewing your life from a perspective that ALL things are possible, that miracles can and do occur every day and most importantly, your dreams and desires are manifesting into reality, then you have chosen to SEE the world differently.  If however the world you view is uncaring, unsupportive, loveless and full of unsolvable problems then you are viewing the world whose basis is an illusion.

Every day you have a choice of vision, every minute of the day your mind gives you the opportunity to choose between these two outlooks of the world.  Out of habit, most of us choose the latter rather than the former because we really cannot comprehend how one can live a life full of love and purpose when the world shows us an entirely different picture.

Today, you CAN make the choice to see from the perspective of love, in A Course in Miracles there is an affirmation that helps stimulate your inner guidance system to help align your thoughts with the ability to co-create with the Universe:

I am willing to see things differently.”

So just for today, in all of your encounters that give rise to negativity or an unloving thought or reaction, repeat the above affirmation over and over again in your mind.  You will be surprised to learn that in doing this it begins the process of opening a wonderful channel of communication between you and your Higher Self.

Have an inspiring weekend.
